Gasthaus zum Ochsen is an institution in Rust. Run by Uwe Bosch, a master butcher with a feel for good meat.
No tourist menus here — just genuine Baden home cooking: hearty, fresh, generous. Every dish is prepared fresh to order. The meat is cut only when needed. Sauces made from scratch, no powder, everything homemade.
That is why the food tastes the way it should. And sometimes it takes a little longer — we gladly take that time for you.
In summer you sit outside in the beer garden, with a cold wheat beer, neighbours at the next table and the evening sun over Rust. The locals eat here, and those who come once always come back.
